1) Why people should vote for you?
As experienced legislators serve this circle for many years, I feel that I continue to prosper relations that I have seen, and the main voice of experience in this area. I am proud of my service on many important projects in our borough, as the treatment plant Burnsville, Bloomington Old Cedar Avenue Bridge, and financial support for the Burnsville heart of the city. I will always be an advocate for the needs of our district for the next meeting. Together, we can develop our community and experience.
2) Support the proposal to amend the Constitution of the ballot, November 7, devoted to the automobile tax on turnover transport? Why is it necessary? Do you agree with how the modified revenue sharing between transit and highways?
Yes. I believe that this change will happen properly devote automobile sales tax revenue planned for the end of road and transit countries. I think the 60-40 Split is a fair distribution of future revenues.
3) Since the 2001 K-12 and means of reforming three years, no changes are made by students of the formula and funding for two years, 4 percent, the state has fulfilled its obligations education funding? What should be done in the future?
The Ministry of Education reported that the General Fund school district revenue per pupil is now higher than anytime in nearly two decades. After adjustment for inflation, there was a growth of 23 per cent since 1991 to the current national average of $ 8675th Minnesotans are welcome, a serious and persistent stateis investment in our schools and our families and students can be proud to have an obligation to training has been that, in the ACT nationis best scores this year. We are also a national leader in the field of part of the local school household is encouraged by state aid Minnesotais average of 80 percent. I, for our schools, the most spending in the budget stateis, because I believe in the promise of quality education. Our next step will be to collect and revenue-out change from year to year.
4) What the Government should state that the health care of their obligations vis-à-vis its collaborators, Minnesota, Care, which is quite different if the state can reduce costs health care?
Minnesota must still be made to a consumer, market-based health care system with innovative products for health insurance, such as health savings accounts. The legislature should also lifted mandates is obsolete and inefficient health insurance policy and to continue setting up an interoperability of electronic medical record system to improve the efficiency and quality. Operative a model of payment performance, if health plans paid state are needed for specific quality standards are also contribute to reducing costs and improving patient care.
5) Due to federal funding of the change, it is projected that the Dakota County need to replace a $ 3.1 million shortfall in funding for human services programs such as Case management programs for children and take over the management of the collection program. As a member of the legislature, what would you do to prevent the displacement of responsibilities on the financing of the land tax? Would you support funding by the State of Minnesota to fund all or a substantial part of revenues from the Confederation, which lost? Where is the money?
I am generally against the disclosure of the Confederation of reductions at the local level and be targeted assistance Case Management and care of the child within the general conditions of funds. During the 2006 session, I supported the $ 60 million in emergency aid to counties for managing specific cases. I would even say, a proposal for the next year without raising taxes.
